Your data

Privacy policy.

The data Efecto uses, how long it is kept, and your rights.

Last updated and effective: 30 October 2026. Main changes: expanded app analytics for version 1.1 and information about city search, weather forecasts and locally stored weather preferences.

This policy covers the Efecto: Padel & Americano app, the padelappscore.com website and support requests. The app is available on the App Store. The weather feature and expanded analytics described below are being introduced with version 1.1. Test versions may use simulated purchases.

1. Controller and contact

The controller responsible for processing carried out by Efecto is Hicham Elbaamrani, 22 rue Saint-Savournin, 13001 Marseille, France. For questions or requests about your data, contact elbaamrani.hicham@gmail.com.

2. Matches, players and preferences

The app stores points, scores, dates, durations, match history, statistics, trophies and settings on your devices. The profile name, player names and favourites you enter are stored locally. Names are optional and you may use nicknames. The app does not access your address book.

Your iPhone and paired Apple Watch exchange the data needed to manage and synchronise matches using Apple services. Point-by-point scores and names you enter stay on your devices and in any optional iCloud backups; RevenueCat receives neither. Limited match statistics sent to PostHog are described in section 5. This local processing provides the features you request. Americano tournaments, managed on iPhone, follow the same rules.

Optional iCloud backup: on iPhone, you can enable an app backup to your iCloud Drive in Settings → Your data. It includes match history, names you enter, your profile, favourites, tournaments, trophies, match preparations and settings. Files are stored in the private iCloud space associated with your Apple Account, under Apple's protection; the developer cannot access them and receives no copy. Each iPhone keeps its three most recent confirmed backups. You can disable backups or delete a backup in the app; restoration only takes place after you confirm it. Backups do not include the purchase information or access identifier described below.

This is not continuous synchronisation between devices. Any device backups enabled through Apple are separate and depend on your settings. The app does not access HealthKit or your GPS location to keep score.

Outdoor playing conditions

When you search for a city, your query is sent to Apple Maps. The selected city’s coordinates are sent to Apple Weather to retrieve a forecast. This feature does not request GPS access. Your selected city, up to five recently selected cities, playing-time preferences and latest forecast are stored locally on your iPhone, excluded from Efecto iCloud backups, and are not sent to RevenueCat, PostHog or the developer. Unselected search text is not saved in your local city history. Use “Clear city history” to remove the recent-city list while keeping the current city. Use “Change city” → “Forget city” to remove these local weather data and preferences. Weather network requests expose your IP address to Apple and are subject to Apple’s privacy policy.

3. Technical identity and purchases

The app creates a random identifier, stores it in the device's keychain and shares it with your paired Watch. It recognises your access entitlement on both devices without requiring a password-based account. This identifier is pseudonymous: the absence of an associated name or email address does not make all related data anonymous.

Apple processes payments. RevenueCat processes the technical identifier and purchase information: product, transaction identifiers, dates, subscription or purchase status, any trial, renewal and refund. This data is used to activate, verify and restore access. The SDK also transmits technical information required to provide the service, such as the platform and app, operating system and SDK versions. A network request exposes an IP address; RevenueCat may use it to infer an approximate country without using GPS.

The developer views access entitlements and purchase business metrics in RevenueCat to understand how the offering is performing. Efecto does not send player names, scores, your address book or support emails to RevenueCat. The app does not ask for your payment card or bank details.

4. Voluntary export

You can export your matches as a CSV file. The file may contain names you entered and match results. You choose the recipients and destination; their own rules apply to the copies you share with them. The developer does not automatically receive this export.

5. App analytics

The iPhone app measures how its features are used to improve the app and understand its offering. Recorded events cover: app openings (and whether they came from a widget or Live Activity), screens viewed, onboarding steps, the access screen and the purchase steps (started, completed, cancelled, failed, restored, access ended), matches started, completed, abandoned or continued on iPhone, manually entered results, Americano tournaments created, completed or abandoned, trophies earned, CSV exports, the choice of a weather city (the city itself is never sent), iCloud backup outcomes, rating prompts, and storage or synchronisation errors. Matches scored on Watch are measured by the iPhone when it receives them; the Watch itself does not send analytics.

These events include the date, a random match identifier, the format (sets, deuce rule, points, number of players, courts or rounds), match duration, number of points and undos, the winning side and the final game score of a match, whether player names were entered (never the names), the product purchased, error codes, whether access is active, the Watch connection state, the app language, and technical information such as device model and operating system, app version and time zone. They are associated with a random identifier created on the iPhone when analytics first runs, separate from the access identifier sent to RevenueCat. They do not include player names, your profile, favourites, cities, point-by-point scores, email address or backup contents.

The provider is PostHog, Inc., which hosts this data in its European infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany. Network requests expose your IP address to the provider; the app requests that it not be used to determine your location. Analytics does not use person profiles, screen recording, automatic interaction capture or advertising identifiers. It is not used for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites.

You may object to this processing. The current app version does not yet have a setting to disable analytics; one is planned for a future update. Until then, contact the developer. Because the analytics identifier is not linked to your name or purchase, the developer may not be able to locate your events and will explain what is possible. Debug builds and automated tests do not send analytics; Release builds, including those distributed for testing, may send the events described above.

6. Website and support

The website presents the app and provides contact links. Unlike the app, its content has no account registration form, advertising tool or analytics script added by the developer. The images and fonts used by the pages do not require a third-party font or image service.

OpenAI Sites hosting uses Cloudflare. As with any website visit, these services process request information, including the IP address, requested page, date, browser information and technical security data. The platform may use technical protection mechanisms. The absence of trackers added by the developer does not mean that the hosting provider performs no processing.

If you contact support, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Support uses Gmail, provided by Google. This information is used to answer your request and is not reused for advertising emails. Do not send passwords, bank details or other players' names unless necessary.

7. Purposes and legal bases

Efecto does not carry out solely automated decision-making with legal effects or advertising profiling. Purchases are subject to checks and decisions made by Apple's services.

8. Retention and deletion

Matches: they remain on your devices until you delete them. Deleting an archived match preserves earned trophies. Resetting match history deletes matches known to the iPhone, their annotations and trophies, but keeps your profile, favourites and settings. It does not cover a match that has never been received from a disconnected Watch.

Deletions are sent to the other device when communication is possible. Technical deletion markers are kept in the local database without automatic expiry so that an old transfer cannot bring a deleted match back. Previously exported files and device backups are managed separately.

App iCloud backups: these remain in your iCloud Drive until replaced (three confirmed backups per iPhone), deleted in the app or removed through your iCloud storage settings. Deleting a match on a device does not remove it from existing backups.

Identity and access: the technical identifier may remain in the keychain after uninstalling the app. Information needed to provide a purchased entitlement is kept for as long as that entitlement must be provided or restored, including for a lifetime purchase. You can send a deletion request to the developer; it will be handled with RevenueCat, taking into account data still needed for your purchased entitlement and any retention obligations. Other information that is no longer needed must be deleted or anonymised. Ending a subscription does not, by itself, automatically delete the purchase record.

Analytics: events are retained for a maximum of thirteen months after collection. The provider does not delete them automatically, so the developer is responsible for deleting them by that deadline.

Support: messages and attachments are kept while the request is being handled, then for no more than twelve months after resolution to allow follow-up. If a dispute or legal obligation justifies longer retention, only the necessary information is retained for the duration of the dispute or applicable obligation. Deletion from the active mailbox is separate from the provider's technical backup deletion schedules.

Hosting and Apple services: providers determine retention for data they process for their own purposes based on the nature of the data, the service, security, disputes and legal obligations. Details are available in their policies below. The developer does not set a single retention period for all their logs and backups.

Deleting the app or match history does not cancel a subscription or automatically delete purchase information held by Apple or RevenueCat, or backups in your iCloud. Restoring purchases does not restore match history; the app's iCloud backup feature provides a separate way to restore it.

9. Recipients and international transfers

Recipients are the developer and the providers needed for the relevant features:

These services may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The RevenueCat and PostHog agreements provide for European Commission standard contractual clauses for relevant transfers, including possible access from the United States to data hosted in Europe. Apple, Google, OpenAI and Cloudflare describe the mechanisms applicable to their own processing in their policies, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, as applicable. You may request further information or a copy of the relevant safeguards from the developer or the provider concerned.

Data may also be disclosed to an authority where legally required. External services you choose for exports operate under their own terms.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability of your data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it for the future. In France, you may also give instructions about what should happen to your data after your death.

Email elbaamrani.hicham@gmail.com with your request. Only information necessary to handle it and, where needed, verify your identity will be requested. A response will be provided within one month; any lawful extension due to the complexity or number of requests will be explained within that period.

Matches stored on your devices or in your iCloud are managed through the app and your Apple settings; the developer has no remote copy from which to retrieve them. For data Apple processes for its own purposes, you can also use its privacy portal.

You may lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, including the CNIL in France.

11. Changes

This policy will be updated when features or processing practices change. The date at the top identifies the version in effect. Any change requiring advance notice or your consent will be accompanied by the appropriate steps.
